Soul/Jazz Christmas holiday music through the decades: The 2000's

Hello everyone, I hope you enjoyed my previous posts about Christmas/Holiday songs through the decades. I went as far as the seventies and now I am in the new millennium 2000's (preferably music from 2000- 2009). I know in early 2000's everybody had a Christmas song from Destiny's Child, Whitney Houston and more.. I choose to pick songs from this great musical period that your rarely hear. Before you get your ready to wrap the gifts or add more decorations to your tree, check out Soul You Know Christmas/Holiday Soul/Rn tunes from the 2000's

Keith Sweat - Be your Santa Claus (2007)

In 2007, Keith Sweat released his first Christmas album with nine original holiday songs titled A Christmas of Love. A great tune from this album is "Be Your Santa Clause"! Staying true to the album title, Be Your Santa Clause is slow groove song will sure warm up the heart of your mate!

The Islely Brothers - I'm In Love (2007)

2007 was the year of Soul holiday songs! The Isley Brothers also released their first Christmas album that year titled I'll Be Home For Christmas A holiday song I love from this album is a love song titled I'm In Love. We all know The Isley Brothers is known for "Grown and Sexy" music, this song contains all of that and more..

Faith Evans- Happy Holiday (2005)

Riding high from 2005 album, The First Lady (a personal favorite), Faith kept her musical light shining bright by releasing a Christmas a few months later titled A Faithful Christmas. The album featured original and interpretations of classic songs such as Merry Christmas Baby, Santa Baby and more. A song I love from this album is the first song on the album- Happy Holiday. This hip Christmas tune display's Faith Evans vocal and writing talents! Another great point of this song is Faith and her older daughter Chyna wrote the song together!

Ledisi- Thank You (2008)

The soulful vocalist by the name of Ms. Ledisi also created a 12 track Christmas album circa 2008 titled It's Christmas. A personal favorite from this album is the spiritual holiday song simply titled "Thank You". This song is dedicated to the "supreme being" for bringing her joy and changing her life for the greater good! "Thank You" gives me that vibe to take my shoes off and start like some of them church ladies when they get the "spirit" in them (yeah I just said it)!

Anita Baker- Christmas Fantasy (2005)

The icon Ms.Anita Baker gave a jazzy approach to holiday songs on her 2005 Christmas Fantasy. A great song from this album is the title track, also named Christmas Fantasy (written by Anita Baker). The song is a jazzy holiday love song that  you should listen to when you are relaxing with some hot chocolate (and some special little something in it). Anita Baker can never do no wrong in my book, sang it girl...
